Who We Are

Lupus Howse Foundation is a non-profit organization designed to help promote healthy living with lupus. We provide resources and support to patients as well as businesses and healthcare providers. We are here to support people with lupus and their families who want to live a healthy lifestyle with education about alternative solutions and other health resources.

Lupus is a chronic condition that can affect many parts of the body, including the joints, skin, kidneys, heart, lungs, blood vessels, and brain. Although people with the disease may have many different symptoms, some of the most common ones include extreme fatigue, painful or swollen joints, unexplained fever, skin rashes, and kidney problems. Lupus varies greatly in severity, from mild cases requiring minimal intervention to those in which significant and potentially fatal damage occurs to vital organs such as the lungs, heart, kidneys, and brain. For some patients, the disease can be characterized by “flares” of activity interspersed with periods of improvement or remission.

Our mission is to build awareness one brick at a time by providing wellness resources, support, and access to a healthier lifestyle. We hope to partner with health conscious businesses and bring awareness by making sexy, healthy and beautiful living accessible to ALL. Our Support groups are the direct connection to the lupus community that provides the help needed. We meet monthly and the meetings range in topics from skincare, offering free help with disability, as well as learning about healthy alternative and organic lifestyle changes. There is so much more to what we have to offer! What makes Howse Foundation different is the experience, the real life living with lupus experiences that you just don't understand unless you actually have lupus. Not just the facilitator training received from organizations like Lupus LA, and Lupus Foundation of America, but the actual real life's trials that prepare us to share and inspire so many.

Sexy, healthy, and beautiful with Lupus… but our greatest hope? A cure! If it doesn’t happen, we hope with healthy lifestyle advice and/or alternative solutions without side effects, we can assist lupus patients live better.

There's a huge difference between living with an autoimmune disease and conquering its affects in your life. When Kimberly Howse was diagnosed with lupus, she decided to do just that; conquer lupus and live her life to the very fullest. She was also determined to help other people do the same. We created the Howse Foundation to support, educate and share information with others coping with lupus.
